All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey...but in the North West, it's awards time and many of this year's RTS NW nominations have been expertly handled by the staff at Flix. We have been involved in films in five of the categories including Best Regional Programme, Best Low Budget Programme, Best Current Affairs Programme, Best Single Documentary and Best Factual Series. Good luck to all those who are nominated, and may the best programmes win on the 14th November.
Flix is ever-busy working on the potential nominees of tomorrow. 'The Tiniest Girl in the World' (Nine Lives Media for five) is in offline this month, and is the sixth film done here for Nine Lives and the Extraordinary People strand. We have just finished International versions of BBC's Future of Food for Blakeway North, and the ONE Show is still keeping us on our toes. Our new 5.1 Dubbing Theatre is as busy as ever with more re-versioning, voice-overs and, of course, programme mixes.
Flix CGI have had a busy past month, firstly providing the graphic sequences required for the next Nine Lives instalment mentioned above. The department have also branched out into the publishing world producing two animated storybooks for Rockpool Children's Books. Our good friends over at Libra Television have also come to us for graphics for their next set of educational programmes. Also taking place this month is all of the filming and graphics required for the next set of business awards for Trinity Mirror NW2. Finally, the department have just completed work for one of Hollywood's most highly acclaimed directors, details of which will be released shortly...
September also saw the introduction of High Definition Blu-Ray discs being added to our extensive range of delivery formats here at Flix.
Plenty more exciting projects are on the horizon, so who cares if it's cold outside, in Flix it's hot, hot, hot.
