After a hectic couple of months, things are starting to calm down here at Flix Towers, well for some of us at least. Mark and Laura are knee deep in HD On-lines for the 3x60min documentaries for BBC Two, while 'Beat the Boss' goes into On-line later this month after a lengthy offline period.
Exciting news in the world of all things audio, Dubbing Mixer Hannah will be getting her hands on some of the latest sound equipment in July. Flix are overhauling their Dub Theatre by installing an ICON ES Series console with Pro Tools HD3 Ver.8 software and 5.1 surround sound capabilities. The installation comes ahead of more live-action HD projects, as well as the animation series 'Everything's Rosie' for the BBC.
After filming took place last month in readiness for the Liverpool Daily Post Regional Business Awards, the CGI team completed the graphics required for the award ceremony. Held at St Georges Hall in Liverpool the black tie dinner was a huge success, huge congratulations to all involved. Also going through the department this month were a multitude of graphics sequences for Blakeway North's latest documentary. For the same client they also completed a logo rebuild from scratch to incorporate the North postfix. Graphics were also completed for the next episode of Nine Lives' Extraordinary People series, and Aztec returned for more photographic scanning and compositing work.
The team have also been working hard on their own projects out of hours, the results of which are going to begin appearing in the Scrapbook section of the CGI website over the coming months. Please click here to visit their site and take a look at the fruits of their work.
Finally, congratulations to Matt and Neil who completed the gruelling 4 day, 3000 miles Bonkers to Budapest Rally, and in doing so raised a great sum of money in aid of Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
